Photography
Hi! I'm Alyssa~
cosplayer & photographer
Long time photographer, longer time cosplayer!
My journey with cosplay began in ye olde year of 2006. Obsessed with Naruto, Fruits Basket, and Death Note, I attended my very first Anime Convention. The second I walked into that fluorescent warehouse of plushies, wigs, and costumes, I knew I had to be there. My very next year, I dressed as Sakura from Naruto one day and Misa from Death Note the next. I met so many wonderful people and had the time of my life. I was hooked for life.
For the next two decades, I continued to cosplay. I hired many photographers and attended shoots with my friends, and loved looking through photographers' instagrams of the beautiful costumes and stories they told. So I borrowed a camera from my roommate, headed down to Katsucon 2018, and started taking photos of cosplayers! I wondered if it was possible that I could love it even more than cosplay.
Turns out my love of cosplay photography turned into my love of ALL photography. I started offering sessions at conventions, took photos at events with my family, and on location photoshoots for friends. Portrait photography is something special.
& In 2024, I started working as a full time photographer in the Salem Massachusetts area. I feel very lucky to be doing what I love and still have time to travel to conventions and work with cosplayers.
To me, cosplay photography is a collaborative art. We are not simply taking pictures; we're creating a scene, a story, an emotion, a preserved moment that captures your endless hours of crafting and care, and the heart of the character you're in.

FNAF fans might recognize this one. Believe it or not this is from a work halloween party! Sometimes it pays to work on a photoset with cool as hell swords and gravestones~
